Class Descriptions YOGA BASICS : An introduction to the principles of Yoga including basic postures, alignment, breathing and relaxation techniques. (All levels welcome.) SUNRISE YOGA : An introduction for the beginner to Yoga flow by integrating breath with movement through various Yoga postures. (All levels welcome.) RESTORITVE YOGA: Deep relaxation promoting rejuvenation and inner calm. Bolsters and blankets are used to support the body in various poses which are held for a period of time, allowing one to go deep into the pose. The poses relax the muscles and nervous system and promote vitalization of the immune system. (All levels welcome.) MEDITATIVE YOGA: Meditation releases tension and calms the mind. Meditation will be introduced as to how it aligns with poses and how they mutually support each other. Posture, breathing, and focusing the mind will be introduced as we explore various meditation techniques. Movement in poses will be included with an indrawn focus. (All levels welcome.) THERAPEUTIC YOGA: Emphasis on alignment and action principles to promote therapeutic and strengthening effects of traditional yoga poses. Poses will be modified for each person’s unique challenges with Anusara Yoga principles, designed to prevent and relieve pain. Not appropriate for those in acute pain. (All levels welcome.) MIXED LEVEL: Students will refine the postures taught in the Basics Class and will build endurance. More intermediate poses will be introduced in stages for those wishing more challenge in their practice. (All levels welcome.) PRIVATE CLASS: Focusing on your individual needs, you will develop a keen awareness of your body and a powerful personal yoga practice at your own pace.
